the phrase ''black and white" has been popping up a fair bit the past few days. all of them unrelated. the NS dude who tried to seek some justice regarding some superior's misconduct, the pro-life/pro-choice debate and something else random.
truly, life doesn't exist in black and white but in many shades of grey. kinda like the way Alfred Kinsey thought that everyone existed on a scale of sexuality from hetero to homo.
childish it may seem, but i don't think i'm very fond of ambiguity. i think i like black and white. or at least i don't like the uncertainty that comes with grey.
i have less than 2 weeks to returning to Ann Arbor. i realise i have quite a number of things to do before that. i realise that's it's going to be a long long 8 or 9 months before i am rewarded with another summer. 2 terms of learning, cramming and relationship-building. and with some determination, exercise.
i'm looking forward to the new challenges that await me. settling into the apartment will have its fair share of ups and downs. settling into a new schooling environment, with a lot less play. forging new relationships and maintaining existing ones. coming up with some kind of routine to simplify things.
i thought i liked impromptu. but now, i'm thinking, maybe it's cool to plan a little ahead. be a little more organised. 'a year's work is planned in the spring, a day's work in the morning." it's fall in this case.
