i've been home 2 days but i have yet to blog.
at the rate i'm going my blog may just close. i'm reaching the point that anything i want to say should be reconsidered and what i can say is seldom of interest.
i went to Longhouse today to eat hawker food. prawn mee, yong tau foo and char kway teow. it's been a while.
and i met up with meihui, val, lik and michzee for dinner and drinks today. i'm really glad that we're still talking and laughing and meeting up 7 years on. i really wonder how much longer we can keep it going. but the friends forever never quite held true. it's always been 'it was great while it lasted'.
i remember while i was in SH , someone wrote an essay about the pains of a consumeristic society. how true is this? the clothes in my cupboard multiplied while i was away seeing that my mom has taken to packing winter wear into the wardrobe. but how is it that with a cupboard full of clothes, i can't find anything suitable to wear?
i thought i had rid myself of the bad habit since i got dressed so much faster when i was in SH. maybe it could be coz i knew less people there so it mattered less whether i was looking a million bucks. but seriously, i'm quite beyond that now. i rememeber how i refused to wear clothes which made me look like a pear.
but i've got a pear-shaped figure and nothing's gonna change that(other than some hip surgery). so now i'm embracing the 'wearing what i want' motto.
i miss shanghai. it's not perfect. but having spent almost 5 months there, it's given me more than enough time to get attached to it. it's not a one week stay where you run through everything and remember little about the place. i've had opportunities to see the different facades of it. but there will be chances to return. and likewise there will be other opportunities to see other places and stay for longer periods of time.
i'm off. i'm very tired now.
