rule no. 67 on shopping: do NOT say that one is going to do some shopping. mention anything else(eg. i'm gonna catch a movie) and just browse casually and that careles karma will attract all the suitable buys. the offender will realise that he or she will be walking aimlessly and despondently for a whole day without getting anything.
i met my toufu again yesterday. it's really nice hanging out with her. squadmates for 6 years! it's really fun and casual to be out with her. it's like we could be out for ages and we'd never run out of things to say and all..
so we broke the rules and said we intentionally wanted to shop for chinese new year. it meant 6 hours of fruitless walking about and trying on so many clothes which either didn't fit or didn't suit. we had lunch at crystal jade and had a drink at nydc.
i collected my bikini from buttcheeks. unfortunately my mom doesn't really like it see? that's already an understatement. but she willingly consented to shopping with me and finding one which she likes. then i believe she'll get it for me!
at approximately 6.30pm after a whole day of shopping, i got this really nice blouse from zara! but i'm going to have to find a way to fasten the front together coz it keeps flapping apart.
for the rest of the past week i've been lolling around like some slug. dropped all pretense of reading newspapers. i'll try to start again soon. i'm quite out of touch with the MUGGLE world so-called. maybe 'll turn into yucky ickle Diddykins.
i guess that sums up what i've been up to lately. HARRY POTTER! i know friends who have been trying to convince me for years that it was a worthwhile read are most probably having the last laugh now.. no surprise there. i'm glad i caught on at long last and i'm really enjoying myself with it. but my cowardly self cannot read it in comfort once the sun has set and i get easily spooked.
my toilet bowl was very uncooperative last night. it kept flushing repeatedly after i had used it when i had finished Goblet. stupid me put 2 and 2 together and arrived at 5 and decided to wake my mom up about the toilet bowl. sensible mommy told me to flush it again. she might as well have told me to eat slugs or something coz i was rather freaked and yup! the toilet solved itself! so anyway this morn i have started on OotP and so nearly squandered the morning away on a delicious read.
i must stop procrastinating now. am typing my first-ever blog entry on my new computer. i shall give it a name soon. damian's got his called Nagini. i only realised recently that it's a snake's name. eewl. the wireless really exasperated me when i first got it. and i was sorely tempted to slam it into the floor. thankfully it got resolved thanks james!!
oh and i forgot to mention. my sister and i have ben trying to spend more time together owing to the fact that i'll be leaving in a a couple of weeks' time. about there. so we decided to cycle at east coast park last sunday. rief it rained cats and dogs but not wanting to overshoot the time we continued and pressed on in the downpour. we were soaked. dripping and cycling on these empty unshaded roads. quite freaky actually. and not being able to see properly with all that water in our eyes is hardly a good thing. and almost cycling off the track into the water ski park is worse. hungry me kept rambling about barbequed chicken wings and oyster egg. the watress at one of the cafes gave us a wad of serviettes to dry ourselves after we ambled in.
okay i really must get back to packing. it's quite a massive task and it struck me that february is just days away. and there's certainly no time to be packing over CNY! i'm looking forward to the yu sheng which my extended family eats. they dump salmon and abalone in! anyway that's not the point.
coming mid-feb, i'm off to shanghai for 6 months. am gonna study mandarin during that inetrval. and it's got me a little panicky now. coz i'm gonna have to stay at the hostel unlike what i previously thought at my dad's place.
so i really need to be packing. like pronto!
really love my sister. we make the best pair of sisters ever. amazing how we can irritate each other and make it other laugh so much!
