i have watched LOTR!!!
fine..so it didn't quite live up to it. i still like two towers the most. i like legolas' fighting sequence and gimli's dumb comments. the ending is quite stupid especially the gollum fighting with thin air part. don't like frodo. love sam. reading the book even further brings out how sam is just great. my sis kept jabbing me throughout the show and asked stupid questions like who is sau-rae-mon(saruman) and who's anwar?(meaning lord angmar)
nicole kidman won a golden globe nomination for best actress in cold mountain. i've found out that cold mountain the movie is based on a book of the same title about the american civil war and the life of this woman and this confederate army deserter. also found that my dad had the book and my maid help me dig it out and i'm reading the first chapter.
i know i'm kiddish. but i've just borrowed 12 nancy drew books and i'm reading them now. need an easy read so shall be a kid for a while thouhg none shall catch me outdoors carrying it.
my sis is in to doing a makeover for me. she's been shopping for clothes since she was back and i think we are heading out to shop again this evening. she's like totally willing to spend for stuff on me. bought me this pair of silver dangly earrings ($8.90) with those bohemian chic intricate designs.
i'm getting sad. the hols of being 16 are drawing to this end. just 9 more days. sigh. and i planned so many things that i will do. like making photoframes for all my relatives and planning a christmas bash(so not happening now) and going kite-flying. all i did was laze..and in my lazing i didn't even fulfill the usual amount of tv hours. did not buy other sets to watch. sigh.
maid's going back for a holiday so i'm stuck having to learn how to use the washing machine. i guess for two weeks, i'm going to wear easy-iron clothes. and she won't be around for countdown so my mom has hired me to be the heavy duty dishwasher for the gathering she's hosting. i just want to chicken out. not about the dishes really(just partially), but more coz there aren't any people who really interest me. i mean they are all nice matronly people who are really kind and ask about you. but they are afterall more my mom's friends than mine. i just miss clara and jeremy. it's always been like a custom that we meet every hols at least a couple of times and just do the things we do. that hasn't really happened this year.
the good thing is, chinese new year's early this year. can't wait for the goodies. pineapple tarts, waxed duck, barbequed pork, chinese sausages, prawn rolls, love letters, the teochew fish. the tarts, pork and duck are my absolute favourite. it's the chinese new year must-have. sigh. that means i have to start to lose weight. the two kilos i put on last chinese new year hasn't been lost, not to mention that i ate less last year.
now that's one lengthy entry....
oh and did i mention..i'm going national. NJC it is. just checked out the site. the nouse names are pretty cool. like aerius, lignum, terra, solaris, aqua and one more i forgot. aw shucks. it's time to learn how the washing machine works.
